Website Description: Blues for the Bear is a sextet jazz album that combines jazz forms with Brazilian rhythms. It has the sonic quality of smooth jazz, but with a complexity, depth & soul reminiscent of classic jazz records.
While the writing & arranging process took many months, the entire CD was recorded in just three days! Like those old jazz records, Blues for the Bear was recorded live, in one room and to 2" tape. Thanks to the preparation that went into the project, and the excellent musicians who played on it, the group was able to get in & out of the studio in record time.
